Business is a harsh world and it can be hard to succeed in the driven world where there are so many competitors vying for attention and a place at the top table. However, I fully believe that success is possible, paticularly if you have the right mindset.
Creativity is a key asset to possess in abundance if you want to be successful. You have to have the ability to stay ahead of the market and create a product or service which fills a niche which otherwise would have been left untouched. Or you may have to have the knowledge to know how to distnguish yourself from other competitors in the field so that you have an advantage. You might do this by emphasising the uniqueness of your business model or pointing out that quality and consistency are trademarks of your work.
Persistence is also of paramount importance, particularly when you are dealing with other businesses, such as when you are operating in a B2B (Business to Business) framework. You have to be able to tackle knockbacks and not let it detract from your ultimate goal of succeeding, which could be quantified by wealth or fulfilment, depending on your personality. Interpersonal skills are also essential when interacting with fellow businesses and knowing how to tailor your services to the client that you are dealing with is an asset which you cannot put a price on. Being patient and playing the long game are normally the trademarks of someone who is successful, even if it takes a long time for that to happen.
Ultimately though you have got to be hard working and have a reall drive to succeed. If you consistently perform day after day, then you will be the one who wins in the end. Staying power is much better than peaking early and tailing off. Sometimes you just have to keep going and eventually you will reach your destination.
